QR Code

by Rick Peate on 10/01/11

Wikipedia defines QR code:
A QR code, abbreviated from Quick Response code, is a type of matrix bar code first designed for the automotive industry. More recently, the system has become popular outside of the industry due ti its fast readability and comparatively large storage capacity.
The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. The information can be made up of any kind of data.
Created by Toyota subsidiary Denso Wave in 1994 to track vehicles during the manufacturing process, the QR code is one of the most popular types of two-dimensional bar codes. It was designed to allow its contents to be decoded at high speeds.

QR Code is a great new way to reach customers and others.
It is free on the internet.
Simply enter 'QR code' in your search engine, then review and select one of the various generators available.
Use the code in handouts, flyers, posters etc.. When a smart phone photographs the image, your message will appear on the smart phone.
A cautionary note, make sure the connected content is relevant and useful.
